If you look at history, since ever humans entered the „stage of life“ imprisonment and enslavement was ever-present!
No matter if enslaving their own species starting in the middle ages or in the modern era, human mankind always tried to depress certain people, groups or other species in order to accomplish personal benefits and show dominance.

Why? I have no answer to this, as I am raised to live in harmony with other people, species and our environment and nature. There is no, „you“ or „me“ – it should always be a „we“ or „us“ with respect!

Well coming back to enslaving and depressing species, we were confronted with 2 tragic, senseless and unnecessary incidents in zoos. The first was a suicide in Santiago de Chile / Chile, where a man jumped into the lion´s enclosure and tried to commit suicide. The zoo staff decided to fire live rounds at the lions, killing one male and one female lion in the process. These 2 lions did not decide to be there and they had no choice as they were enslaved innocently and senselessly killed by this incident.

The second incident was  in the US at The Cincinnati Zoo, where a western lowland gorilla was shot and killed on Saturday after a 4-year-old boy slipped into the animal’s enclosure. The name of the Gorilla was Harambe, who didn’t ask to be confined, he didn’t ask to be put on display for humans to gawk at and he didn’t ask for an eternity of imprisonment, nor did he ever get a choice.

„The headlines are slandering Harambe, as if he ‚aggressively‘ attempted to kill the child. The video shows him carefully checking the child out, and then what appears to be actually protecting him from the crowds of screaming humans. If he wanted to kill the child, he would have. Harambe shouldn’t have lost his life, because he shouldn’t have been in a zoo in the first place. Zoos are disgusting, money-making machines that imprison animals against their will. No amount of enrichment can ever equate to a life of freedom for an animal.
Incidents like this wouldn’t happen if zoos didn’t exist. People wouldn’t justify imprisoning animals for conversation purposes if poaching didn’t exist. Poaching wouldn’t exist if ignorant, selfish and/or dumb consumers didn’t purchase animal and wildlife products. Stop consuming, stop supporting animal exploitation and stop being so selfish.“

Start reflecting about your daily behaviour, is it only a „me“ or a „we“ behaviour, you are living each day?!

There once was a British pop band who had lyrics saying „The world is my oyster“. The world is fortunately still existing, but it lies in ruins.

Our planet once provided us humans with everything we needed in abundance. There was enough clean water in the rivers for us to drink. There was clean water in our oceans to provide us with plenty of fish to eat. There were enough fruits in nature and berries in the woods we could collect to satisfy our hunger. There were animals to be hunted and feed our children!

Piece by piece this construct was destroyed by humans. Mother earth was not made for more than 7 billion people living on it, still growing. The industrial revolution brought progress to us, made things allegedly easier for us, yes. But on the other hand air pollution and water pollution started in a way we did not think about at that point of time.

Our once called „blue planet“ cannot handle this vast amount of people anymore! More and more people gaining financial prosperity, also in countries that once were called third world countries want to participate in this wealth. They want meat, with this the factory farming gets bigger and bigger and more perverted every day. Our oceans show more and more signs that they fight back, they are dirty and polluted.

Mother earth becomes destroyed every day a little bit more and it cannot be „repaired“ as the destruction is irretrievable! Animal species, plant species disappear, our poles melt away and with them again precious species will disappear soon from our planet!

It is all in our own hands, but humans seem only to react when it will be too late.

If you want change, be the change, every single one of you!

Start with something and help to stop the insanity …

… of Fukushima dumping radioactive contaminated water into our oceans

… of hunting precious animals such as lions, elephants, cheetahs, gorillas, just for fun

… of drive hunts for dolphinds and small whales in Taiji / Japan

… of hunting whales in the southern oceans by Japanese whale fleets

… of plastic waste every day

… of polluting our air, driving each and every distance by car

… of showing no more respect to life, environment and our all word

…TO BE COMPLETED BY EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU!

LIFE IS ONE THING, MONEY CANNOT BUY!

Stoppt diesen Wahnsinn!

DO NOT BUY A TICKET!

This video is the german support for the „Miracle March for Lolita“

Lolita is an Orca being captured from the wild in the early 70´s! Lolita has suffered in the same concrete tank at the Miami Seaquarium for close to 44 years. She lives a solitary life, performing in depressing daily shows for tourists. Her tank is the smallest for an Orca in North America, and despite being in violation of the Animal Welfare Act, the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has yet to acknowledge these glaring discrepancies.

Lolita is almost the same age as I am, I could never ever imagine being enslaved and imprisoned in a broom closet, comparing my weight and size to her´s being in this way too small tank. This concrete tank she has to „live“ in now for 44 years is the best reason turning mad and commit suicide. Even this is not possible for her #FreeLolita!

Let us all try to #FreeLolita from these unacceptable conditions. Let us all be Lolita. These facilities have to be shut down, there is no place for them in 2015!

#EmptyTheTanks worldwide!

#FreeLolita

Almost 1 year ago, I started my first trip to Japan. Actually I did not feel travelling to Japan, it was more an unknown destination with many pictures in my mind. During the complete rtrip until I finally reached this small enclave of atrocities my mental cinema was turned on. The trip started in Frankfurt with direct destination to Osaka, which was a comfortable flight, only half occupied. Arriving in Osaka in the morning, I made my way to the train station at the airport, booked my tickets to Katsuura and started an approx. 4,5 hours train ride. Still thinking about what I will expect to happen the next weeks and made my way being awake for approx. 20 hours now.

Arriving in Katsuura in the afternoon I was picked up by lovely Cove Guardians. It was a subdued mood, as this morning there was a successful driving hunt and many bottlenose dolphins were killed and selected for captivity!

As mentioned at the beginning, all this was 1 year ago. Besides more attention in the international press, more celebreties who are involved in the campaign „Infinite Patience“ and spreading the „word“, no significant changes happen. The driving hunts still go on, the Japanese people in the „Wakayama“ prefecture still eat mercury poisoned dolphin and whale meat …

Richard O´Barry once said as part of the script of „The Cove“:
„If we can’t stop that, if we can’t fix that, forget about the bigger issues. There’s no hope.“

Unfortunately he is still right!

… close your eyes for a moment of silence. breathe constantly and steady. imagine you are under water, playing with your family and swimming through the broad expanses of the ocean, looking for fish and just be. your mother, father and aunts are with you in harmony – deep and blind understanding for each other. these are your best years and besides finding food is getting harder since several years and the increasing noise pollution, you love your unburdened and happy life in the ocean.
suddenly you hear a harrowing, maddening sound, that confuses and frightens you. your family huddles together and you do not really know what is happening, but this harrowing wall of sound drives you in a certain direction. it keeps confusing you for hours and your body and mind becomes tired. you find yourself in #thecove, you have never been here before, you here undefinable noises and voices from beings you never experienced before in your life. your family is frightened, everybody is huddling together in fear … the broad expenses of the ocean become tighter and tighter, no escape and suddenly the blue water turns red … your last breath!

On the one hand we have dedicated people risking their lives to save dolphins & whales. these passionate humans spend a lot of their spare time, they spend a lot of money for travelling, only with that one goal – to make this world a better place and save dolphin´s & whales´s lifes! They believe that it is not too late and that humans can live in harmony with animals on planet earth!

On the other hand we have the old schooled people, the ones that do not know the facts, who think that mother earth will survive another million years treating it badly as we do currently! these people have no dedication, no heart, no understanding how it feels to be imprissoned far away from the family. These people love to accuse conservationists of lying.

Let me ask everybody, especially our famous politcians who close all their eyes to these problems, who is the one caring more for the future of our planet? We all need this planet to live on, but I think as long as their is no real collapse, nobody will wake up, though we get so many signs of „wake up calls“ from nature.

Mankind is a master of repression!

In November 2013 I have traveled from Germany to Japan to be a voice for the dolphins of Taiji.
There I met Rachel Carbary, who I stood strong side by side as a Cove Guardian. She told me about her movement of „Empty the Tanks worldwide“ and asked me to maybe initiate an event for Germany and I promised to do my best to do so.

And here we go, currently we have 243 registrations for the event in Nuremberg / Germany@ Tiergarten & Delfinlagune, which turned out to be a first success.
The event itself will be a success for sure as we all stay strong together and let the Tiergarten know what we think about this kind of enslavement of dolphins in concrete tanks.

This is the facebook event page link:
https://www.facebook.com/events/253027218200704/?fref=ts

All dedicated dolphin lovers can hardly wait to give the dolphins their voice.

WE ALL GIVE OUR VOICE TO THOSE WHO CANNOT SPEAK!!!

Please read below Rachel Carbary´s thoughts of „Empty the Tanks“

Empty the Tanks Worldwide was an idea that first began while I was in Taiji, Japan as a Cove Guardian. I knew coming home would be difficult and I wanted to find a way to continue making a difference. That was how Empty the Tanks got its start.

This isn’t a radical movement to release all the captive marine mammals into the wild. Some of these animals might be great candidates for release, but those that are not should be retired into sea pens, where they can enjoy the rest of their days in natural seawater, feeling the waves of the ocean around them. They should not be worked until their last breath is taken and then thrown out like trash and replaced.

These entertainment parks have no place in the 21st century. We know the level of awareness these animals have. We know their social connections, their eating habits, and natural wild behaviors. You cannot breed natural instincts out of an animal in a handful of generations. These are incredibly social, intelligent beings that are being used to make money. It is animal slavery, and it needs to be brought to the general public’s attention.

Empty the Tanks Worldwide is a public awareness campaign. It is a opportunity to educate the general public about a situation they are simply ignorant to. These annual events will allow activists to reach the public all over the world in a positive and productive way.

Please join us and help get the message out.

Together we can make a stand, make some noise, and empty the tanks worldwide.
